There is some advance planning for these days. Sanctuary Breaks seek out potential guests and organise their transport. Volunteer hosts agree a plan, offer food contributions and activity ideas. These vary according to the season and who is available.

* hosts arrive by 10.30 to finalise plans and roles and set up.
* 11.15 meet guests from minibus drop off
* 11.30 welcome chat with tea/coffee, followed by a walk
* 1-2 shared home-cooked lunch
* 2-3 an activity - arts/crafts/music/garden/games.

* 4pm guests depart.
The ‘ Days Out’ are held on the first TUESDAY of every month.

Days Out provide a wonderful opportunity for volunteers and guests to come together in a warm and homely setting, sharing food, conversation, activities and nature. They are highly valued by our guests.

“it’s the first time I laughed since being in the UK”

Help with Transport

Getting to the house sometimes requires help with transport, for example from Gloucester or the train station. Please let us know if you can sometimes be available for helping with this.
